The tour dates for 2009 can be found on the Celtic Woman web site on the home page. I can't wait to see our angel Orla and the other girls live in person once again. Just thinking about it makes me giddy.

"strong" voice? if you anything about traditional irish folk singing, orla is singing in the style, which tends to be soft and breathy, not "strong." what do you expect? Italian opera or nordic joiks? this is precisely what irish singing is suppose to sound like.

It is a pure delight to see this performance with the correct lyrics. Far too many add words that are not in the poem and cut out important sentences.
My group has performed a few times on the Irish Days Festival in my hometown and when I prepared for this song it was not difficult to find the poem and the history of the poet in Wikipedia. On the other hand-my voice sounded far from the fairylike, clear beauty of this woman.

I love the Celtic style of singing, it's very lyrical. Classically, it's very different from certain operatic styles, but I think it's a bit similar to the Germanic Lieder. It's a very natural style, and I just love Orla's vocals here. So gentle and natural!

Ich finde es immer enormst lustig wenn ich Leute sehe die tatsächlich glauben dass das keltische Musik ist oder das es auch nur ansatzweise irgendetwas mit Kelten zu tun hätte. Alles nur Propaganda um Geld zu schäffeln, nicht mehr, nicht weniger. Trotzdem schön.

She plays a Salvi Livia lever harp, 36 strings. She used to play a Japanese harp. I met her in Ireland before she joined CW. anad have met up with her a few times along the way. She's a charming and lovely girl, and needless to say an outstanding harpist and singer.

I just found out that this dear Angel will not be on the 2009 tour. Needless to say, I am quite despondent. No one can replace her. Her voice is so unique. She is the only alto. The other girls are all sopranos. Who will sing the first lines of "You Raise Me Up"? It will certainly sound different. I hope and pray that she will return to CW in the future.
