Banning religion would make people commit crimes because there is no higher authority than us(God). Having said that, believing in a religion and killing for a God makes people do bigger crimes than believing in NO God because LEADERS of the world believe in a God and because of this, they wage war on one another whoever opposes them. So either way, people will keep on killing each other no matter if they believe in god or not.
