We need to act. We can all hope and want RP to be president, but if we dont take positive productive actions in our respective communities, RP as president would not be enough. If u r a Citizen, u can run for office in your local government. Be the leader in your community that speaks the truth and has high moral standards. We have to eliminate all the hypocrites running our government, churches and households. U can be the role model.

i agree with a lot of what Ron Paul says but I have to disagree with this you cannot apply for welfare if your an illegal I no cause Im mexican and some of my family is illegal but they aren't on welfare more black ppl are on welfare then illegals.

I think his position is too weak here. Once theyre here theyre criminals, theyve broken the law, therefore they should be treated as such. This isnt just poor people looking for a better life, this is an INVASION. What he said was, the Federal Government isn't going to pay for it. Charities, churches, local community, or even the hospital would cover the cost. Not Federal Taxes. No one would be dying in the streets because they couldn't get help. Almost there, take another red pill and go and read the whole policy. It will make more sense. Because everyone is paying taxes out the butt the people would take care of this.

That may be true...but then when the hospital realizes you can't pay for your broken leg...they take your house...or car...or if you have nothing...they tax people who do have it. And if you do have money, they can and HAVE turned people away. Thousands die every year because their shitty HMO doesn't cover certain aspects of their care the would save their life!

i think that its hard to live in poverty knowing that there is redemption a few miles to the north. seeking freedom is not about changing american culture, its about living in a society that has it all, food shelter and safety. Of course they are going to maintain their culture, thats who they are, if you moved to another city in the states, would they ask you to forget the culture of the city you came from? you end illegal immigration and eventually the problem goes away.

I dont doubt the common mexican immigrant has only benign motivations for coming to the US, but amongst their leaders it certainly isnt as innocent. They have this ill notion that the american southwest is rightfully theirs, despite the fact the region was only sparcely populated under mexican rule and that we won it through right of conquest. Either way we cant have a sea of third worlders residing in our nation. If you have a nation of third world people, youll end up with a third world nation

Its interesting to think of this as a border dipute over old territory. Its much the same as Euorpean diputes, land that was transfered away during a different time under the context of a different era, but still fresh in the minds of the decendents of those involved...something needs to be done to be sure, but you are right, the organized hispanic movement is a powerful force in the states right now, but don't you think that organization is the first step in thier eventually contributing ?

I think the mestizos trying to organize in this country would be better off in their native land trying to better the situation at home. If god forbid they become a majority and gain enough influence, then the face of this nation will be forever changed, and the US will come to resemble a country more like mexico or panama or columbia or whatever other third world hispanic shit hole you can imagine. Seems harsh to criminalise existing immigrants but i guess you've got to mitigate the problem in some way.
Are there any illegal immigrants making significant contributions to American life, to the economy for example?

deporting is the only option, really. social welfare programs are bad enough without exacerbating the monstrosity of a federal government we have with giving money to people who sneak across the borders. border control and protection is part of the function of the government, and if we brought back our troops from our empire abroad, we'd easily be able to deter nearly all illegal immigrants from attempting to come here. what's wrong with that?

He is right, government is too big, cut social programs that don't work. Deport illegal immigrants. It is appalling that police are not allowed to ask if someone is an illegal immigrant. They have more rights than citizens. Regarding healthcare, in Canada we have universal healthcare for everyone. The system works, I've never had to wait for a test, MRI, etc.
