Yeah... in the end, the Sioux were defeated spiritually and physically, but I wouldn't contribute it solely on war. You have to look at the fact that the US fought a dirty war. They massacred whole villages of innocent people and nearly exterminated the buffalo in the pursuit of victory.

yeah it was a losing battle as soon as the sickness hit Small Pox killed more natives that the military did as a whole. it wiped out complete villages. for the military with resources an weaponry.Just think if the indians had the same firearms/ammo.I dont feel shame for the color of my skin cuz it wasnt me that did it.great grandfather for that matter.The sad fact is that if it wasnt us then who else the french? the Russians?Its all a cycle .The tribes we see now werent the same 4,000yrs ago.

The singers are elders from the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. This was recorded sometime in the late 1960's or early 1970's. The singers are William Horncloud, Ben Sitting Up, and Frank Afraid of Horses. Pay tribute to these elders who fought to keep the Lakota spirit alive.

this is awesome. i was at a fighting sioux hockey game and the lakota came and did a war chant before the game. totally cool, i wish they would do it before every game. the music has a haunting sound that fills me with pride, and fills the opposing team with dread. go sioux
