I agree with you on many issues, but not this one. Absolutely not this one. We've gotten many benefits out of the Space Program. Those satellites that help keep our country safe aren't a side-effect or a peripheral benefit. So don't lay down that line of honkey, please.

There is absolutely no reason to go to Mars, it is not going anywhere! In a hundred years it will still be there.
So why not try direct all funds to help mankind catch up with technology.
We still cannot control the border or redirect the puny minds of girls who want to get pregnant out of wedlock to collect welfare and have someone to love them.
We need to clean our house before we go elsewhere to "make a difference:!!
