That's weird that it was too graphic because I have seen dozens of people in movies and tv that slit their wrist. It could have been that showing her death would not add to the story throughline because death at the beginning is too much of a bummer

Ya, actually, even if you look at documentry on rent, included with the movie, in the movie they just made it look like she died of aids because there wasn't enough time in the song to put the clip in. plus, if they had put it in, it would make the movie ratings go to an 18, instead of a pg 13, & they felt that this movie should be shown to a younger audience as well. =)

In the play Rogers ex dies from cutting herself, BECAUSE she has AIDs and thats what the wohle play is about, living with AIDS! Take this song, about trying to write a song, a classic song, before AIDs takes control of him.

This song is all about living with AIDS. Its about how emotions and how humans dont own emotions but rent them, Hence the title of the movie and play. Yes, it has the aspects of living with AIDS as a musician and finding love gay or not. just so you know..:)
