according to the mexican constitution, one can only be a mexican if he/she is born within the country,has parents born in mexico, or applies for CITIZENSHIP (mexicans are not a race, we are a nationality)
when was the last time you saw a chicano(with parents born in the US) applying for mexican citizenship?

U misunderstood what im saying, I never said "mexican" was a race, I said ANY race can consider themselves "chicanos" because it was a movement of the oppressed made up of mostly mexican-americans but there were also other latinos from peru, chile, argentina, nicaragua who were also part of the movement thus considering themselves CHICANOS. Even now a days there are alot of mexican nationalist (raised in the US) who also consider themselves chicanos, this DOES NOT mean they're disowning Mexico.
